Slava, the brightest exponent of Russian pop this century. A star in her homeland since 2002, she has just written and recorded her debut international album, Eclipse, in England, at Bath's Woolhall Studios, and also some remixes at Verticalrooms with Zombieboy. During recording breaks, she would nip to the local pub where she developed a taste for ale and bitter, and she also fell in love with the surrounding countryside.

"I became an honorary Englishwoman," she beams. "I feel right at home here." It's a temporary condition right now that could, if things go her way, become a permanent one.
